In the event of a major and/or critical incident which impacts Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School on either Thursday Island and or Hammond Island Campus, regularly updated information will be posted on the Home page of this and the Catholic Education website: www.cns.catholic.edu.au
Should it be necessary to close the school in the event of an emergency, such as a cyclone, information will also be sent to local media.
The school community should listen to 4MW (1260 AM).
In the event of an emergency we will communicate with parents via email broadcasts and the SeeSaw App as to the course of action we are taking to ensure safety of our students.
Student Care Insurance
Has your child had an accident or injury at school or in a school related activity such as inter-school sport or a school camp? If the answer is yes, you may be entitled to claim for expenses under Catholic Education’s Student Care Insurance. It covers expenses such as medical costs (where the law allows), emergency transport, travel, home tuition and school fee relief.
