Positive Behaviour and Expectations

Ours is a Spirituality of the Heart! Inspired by the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we proclaim LOVE as the core value of our school.  We pray that every student has a profound experience of love – love of God, self, neighbour; love of learning, environment and culture.

Our Expectations – At Sacred Heart, we set high expectations of kindness, respect, responsibility and safety.  These expectations are reflected in positive behaviours for learning, working and playing together at our school.

The Heart Way Matrix is useful in showing how our behaviour expectations may be demonstrated across the school environment. Our staff use the matrix to explicitly teach the expected behaviours.

Sacred Heart is committed to a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all students, staff, parents and visitors.

This Whole School Behaviour Support Plan outlines the staff responsibilities and processes we use to promote a research-based approach to positive student behaviour.

Its purpose is to support strong student engagement, maximise learning outcomes, and enable every student to participate and experience success.

The plan is available to view below.

Critical incidents cover a wide range of potential scenarios, including suicides, fire, armed offenders or cyclones, to name a few. Our Plan is designed to effectively manage a critical incident, from ensuring safety through to post-event communication, ensuring business continuity, and monitoring staff and student wellbeing.
