Philosophy
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Pre Prep (Hammond Island Campus) provides a learning environment for children based on the Foundations for Success Programme. Pre Prep uses Foundations for Success: Guideline for extending and enriching learning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait children in the Kindergarten year to support the implementation of Belonging, Being and Becoming – The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia. We take an holistic and inclusive approach to caring for and educating our children. We believe that all children are equal and should be encouraged and supported to be able to participate, reach their full potential and achieve their dreams and aspirations.
We believe every child is respected as a unique person allowing them to follow their own interests, needs and energy levels. Educators provide children with endless ways and opportunities to express themselves in a warm and caring environment. Our educators have a strong commitment to nurturing every child and strive to create a welcoming and caring atmosphere that is fun and full of stimulating activities for every child to explore.
Our focus is to work in collaboration with families to ensure we maintain continuity of care for each child and include their own beliefs and cultures in a warm and caring environment.
